The picture is taken from Beth's book William Morris Needlepoint and comes from the William Morris Gallery collection. It shows one of the many Artichoke panels embroidered by Mrs Ada Godman, a truly devoted stitcher, who wrote in her diary in 1877 about her eagerness to start and who was still stitching in 1900!
CANVAS: 12#/in Zweigart White Mono De Luxe, 22x26" (56x66cm).
DESIGN: 14½x16" (37x40.5cm) approx.
WOOLS: Appleton tapestry.
