Paola "Gattiblu" was born in Piedmont, namely Turin, from an ancient family of Cherasco and grew up in the so called Valdesi Valleys, where her father worked as a bank director.
Paola's artistic attitude is innate and has been influenced and increased by her family, since her father is still a landscape painter in Northern Italy and her grandparents and granduncles are engravers and printers right in Cherasco.
Paola attended the Arts High School in Turin and later on the Faculty of Architecture.
Since she had attended her elementary school in a religious institute, in her childhood Paola learnt how to cross-stitch, knit, crochet and so on.
Then her life took new directions: she became a teacher and used to show her works. She also started to work as a designer for weddings, graphics and advertising.
About ten years ago Paola rediscovered her passion for cross-stitching, an activity she had abandoned after the very first lessons learnt from the nuns of her elementary schools.
However, this new interest in embroidering was not only addressed to the mere execution of some patterns of other designers, but Paola herself started to create her own charts by just following her imagination.
Some nice cats have belonged to her family for a long time, so Paola has chosen the cat as the basic subject of her creations.
Finally, about four years ago, following the advice and the support of her French friends, Paola took the plunge: she started creating her charts on her own, with her computer. Since then on, her creations have been available not only for herself but for all cross-stitch lovers.
She then started to take part in shows and exhibitions, like the Aiguille en Fête in Paris and then, several times, Puget sur Argens, Abilmente in Vicenza, Dole, Bergamo, and many other shows, mainly in France.

Cinzia.
