Hi Folks!
Well, the title might sound a little daring… But not so much, after all, if you think that
scissors - for this is what we’re talking about - are definitely among everyday things that have truly followed women in time, including the most powerful women in history, such as Queen Victoria, who was a keen stitcher!
And it’s not by chance that
these scissors besides having taken her name, reproduce one of the models that was most fashionable during the reign of this famous British queen and empress, just like these ones, too,
to be put on as a necklace These little cutting tools, based on the simple lever principle and which we can find the very first examples of in documents dating back to the 3rd century before Christ, have crossed the times virtually “untouched”, since their design, with the typical double blade and the central pivot has always been the same.
What has changed and evolved, however, is the way people “perceive” them, mainly when talking of people fond of crafts and hobbies, who can now rely on an immense choice, not only in terms of applications, but even - and most of all - in terms of shapes, colors an designs
As, for example, the fans of
Kelmscott Designs know very well, for this brand is probably the one that, more than anyone else, has “translated” into dozens and dozens of models and colors the search for variety in this segment. Hearts, circles, ovals, stars, scallop edges and gem cuts... As well as mermaids, pumpkins, the unmissable pets used as the “central body” of the scissors and even an unusual homage to the French symbol per excellence: the Eiffel Tower! Shades and sizes, in such a lot of designs, are as variegated.
Several shades and an incomparable quality/price ratio are the distinguishing marks of the scissors from
Beardie Design that, with their
Medieval, the already mentioned
Victorian and the
Antique, give us a lovely, comprehensive view of the history of this “tool”, that was in the past and is nowadays something able to communicate preciousness and originality. Just in the instance of the “cutting jewels” from
Sajou and of the bizarre and irresistible designs from
Uncommon ScissorsA 100% Italian excellence, acknowledged worldwide, is that of the
scissors by Premax - the consortium gathering about 50 manufacturers and over 300 qualified insiders of this industry, from the Italian province of Lecco. Today, their scissors are divided into different applications (for needlework, sewing, papercrafts and so on) and boast the patented "
Ring Lock" system, that’s been an epochal revolution in the history of scissors
When talking of scissors, we can truly say that there’s something to suit everybody’s fancy
And this something is like a timeless “jewel”

Forbicine preziose... (cimi24245) Date Added: 09/24/2014
Ciao!
