Signing or not?

Date Added: 05/13/2011
Handmade with loveDo not worry: notwithstanding the title, we are not going to talk about contracts or other boring bureaucratic matters
Actually the title derives from some questions we have received in the last few days on the chance to sign or not one's embroideries.

Given that, of course, there are not fixed rules, but everything depends on our personal taste, our wish to customize these little masterpieces which are often the product of a great effort to "steal" some of our time to dedicate to them, among our thousands daily occupations, signing our embroideries can surely be a further demonstration of all the passion we put in their creation. Do here our personal pieces of advice to leave your mark on your precious embroideries: sign only with your name, avoiding the surname, and adding only the year when the embroidery has been made. If you little masterpiece needed more than one year work to be finished, indicate only the latest year.
Naturally, even if the signature is a powerful recall of the author of the embroidery, discretion is always required For such a reason, we suggest to you to embroider your name and the year in one of the inferior corners of the work (the right one if you look at the embroidery is better), by using a simple counted stitch with one, at most two, ply of the dominant color of the embroidery, or of the same color of the embroidery if it is monochromatic

Finally, another tiny suggestion: if you are not convinced to proceed with the classical signature, you can customize your embroidery in another way by simply applying one of these little, nice and irresistible golden hearts or silver hearts.

A clear and discrete at the same time way to underline once again what pushes all of us to use part of our time to embroider: our passion coming from our heart, that's it!

A big hug
