Vickie Jennett for Needle WorkPress

Date Added: 04/24/2012
Needle WorkPressVickie Jennett is a mother and a designer, inspired by her family for her job and strong enough to manage her business Needle WorkPress all on her own. Between Vickie and needlework it was definitely love at first sight: she visited a haberdasher's in Phoenix with her mum when she was 13 and since then, she has never given up needle and floss. After moving to the desert of Arizona, Vickie had finally managed to find her personal oasis of fibers and colors in that shop, where everything had started. From the first approaches to cross stitch, on aida fabric, to the most refined and hardest needlework on flax. From larger to thinner and thinner, little squares... In 30 years of needlework, Vickie has now achieved an incomparable mastery!

Just like most of her colleagues, Vickie started to chart her first projects from some ones already existing. After changing a sentence, an animal, a little house in a sampler, she realized that she could customize her patterns, as well as - most of all - create her own, brand new and original, ones. However, ancient things represent the main source of inspiration for the projects from Needle WorkPress specializing in vintage and shabby chic samplers. Vickie actually studied to graduate in journalism and inquiring, researching, analyzing words and so on are the main features of this job of hers, which have then been transposed into her needlework projects.

Traditional reproductions are the favorite subjects of her collection Needle WorkPress just like the sampler Isabella Johnstone and the stylized garden of How Does My Garden Grow. But since Vickie doesn't limit herself to "plain" stitching, here's a house to stitch on a unique bag. However, Vickie's most beloved chart, as well as her best seller, charted with her brand Needle WorkPress is Maria Tilley 1835, a sampler dating back to two centuries ago and restyled with a modern look.

By the way: the name Needle WorkPress besides clearly refrring to Vickie's career as a journalist, incorporates the three initials of Vickie's husband and children: Niles, Willy and Patrick.
