Newsletter March 2010

Date Added: 03/31/2010

Dear Friends,
it really is a pleasure to officially communicate the date of the fourth edition of the Festa del Ricamo. Sunday, the 23rd of May the usual and magic atmosphere of the Relais Santa Flora (Subbiano, Arezzo) will welcome some of the best known embroidery designers and - this is new!- patchwork artists who will present their creations and will be happy to share their tricks and pieces of advice. Other than the rooms of the artists, as for the past edition our staff will prepare a little market with the selections of the best products of our rich catalog. In each room you will find a little stand of the products of each artist so that you will be able to buy all the shown products.

Now let us introduce our guests.
As you know, our website now includes a new rich section entirely about patchwork and quilting. In order to celebrate the newcoming fabrics and patchwork materials, we will dedicate an entire room to this art. So, we will be happy to meet:
  • Patrizia Girlanda, among the principal representatives of the Italian quilt/patchwork and the Australian Jennifer Manefield, who through a sort of workshop will show you all together how they work.
The embroidery is still the real protagonist of our Festa: cross-stitching, traditional embroidery, different techniques for all tastes.

As for cross-stitching:
  • Sharon from Crescent Colours who directly from the United States will present other than her well appreciated and famous threads also the new thread packs by Little House of Needleworks, Country Cottage of Needlework, Praiseworth Stitchery and other similar American houses
  • Nicoletta Farrauto, Italian artist who is very appreciated abroad as the designer of famous brands like Blackbird Designs, now also protagonist in Italy and in our catalog with her new designs series and her really original creations
  • Marie Suarez who from Belgium will bring to Italy her latest creations, a delicate interpretation of cross-stitching united with traditional embroidery
As for traditional embroidery:
  • Maria Concetta Ronchetti, from Antichi Ricami, master of the Swiss Stitching technique who will make you learn in practice how to imitate her very particular embroideryc
  • We will have also the pleasure to introduce you to the first booklets by Casa Cenina and published together with Fiorella Collection, a precious collection to discover again the great tradition of the Italian embroidery.
We will publish very soon on our website the page of the Festa with all the useful tips to be with us on the 23rd of May.
We also wish you and your families a very Happy and Colorful Easter
A big hug
