The forked sticks by Nonna Livia are four sticks of different dimensions (13cmx2cm; 15cmx3,5cm; 18cmx6cm; 19cmx9cm) all easy to use. They allow you to obtain in a very short time some knitted bands for creating scarfs, tablecloths, runners etc. Finish them with fringes and by crochet in order to unite passementerie or to create some works in different styles: chains, knots, stitches.

Embroidery Scissors - Langres

Maison SAJOU has been lucky enough to aquire a batch of these embroidery scissors, which are a reedition of a 19th century model. We have called them Langres, a town which, before Nogent, was one of the centres of cutlery and scissor making in France. Denis Diderot, one of the great philosophers of the Age of Enlightenment was born in Langres, his parents were in fact.... cutlers!
These scissors are extremely fine with very pointed blades. The golden handles are comprised of a floral motif with delicate pearls placed on the "eyes".
Length: 9.5 cm. Weight: 20 g.
As with all quality scissors, these have traces of pairing: before dipping the steel, the blades are perfectly adjusted a first time to "make a pair". They are marked, generally by a number (here, it is the number 12), as being two parts of a precise pair of scissors. They are then seperated before dipping, which gives them their hardness, reassembled and readjusted. The pairing marks are placed on the scissors hinge so cannot be seen when they are closed.
These scissors are presented in a floral motif box. A label on the inside cover explains the manufacturing process.

These scissors are named after a village in the Haute-Marne region of France, the traditional home of scissor production.
Apart from classic use, they can also be used for broderie anglaise or Richelieu embroidery.
These scissors are entirely made in France. They are hot forged and their production entails no less than twenty manual operations: forging, piercing, tapping, dipping, numerous polishings, chroming, gilding, sharpening, adjusting...
They are presented in an orange floral motif box and bear a Sajou ribbon.

The needle for Relief Stitch is also known as the "Magic Needle".It is undoubtedly the most ideal and practical solution for creating relief embroideries with wool and cotton threads. It is very simple to use and wonderful results are guaranteed! (Here is a Tutorial on YouTube).
This version of the needle is made by a craft in Italy according to a patent of the beginning of the XX century (each item is handmade!). It is entirely stainless steel made and it is 13cm. long and it has a practical plastic cap to protect its point.
The manual embroidery of relief stitches is suitable for decorating linens (for example, monograms) especially when the fabric on which we want to make the embroidery is thick (like the sponge). You can use all types of threads (if they do not exceed the dimensions of the needle's eye): moulinés, perlés, crochet or knitting wools etc. The result obtained with the manual embroidery is definitely better than that you can have with any sewing machine.
