La Dentelle Torchon de Cholet

From: Editions Didier Carpentier

La Dentelle Torchon de Cholet
The town of Cholet was famous in the XIX century for its napkins, linen fabrics, flannels, calicos and laces. The Torchon lace made of continuous threads with repeated designs is the simplest and most-known lac in the world. The threads have a precise, mathematical and geometric path you cannot but follow. No matter if you use 20 or 200 bobbins: once you learn the basic stitches, you will know everything about this lace. You can make a lace whose final decorative effect is immediate and astonishing. The 21 original patterns with colored pictures are explained by detailed instructions, charts and natural size designs.
Mick Fouriscot is the founder and president of the Centre d'Enseignement de la Dentelle au fuseau in Puy. Past president and founder of the OIDFA. Past director of the Atelier Conservatoire National de la Dentelle in Puy. General President of the Fédération Française des Dentelles et Broderies.

Books on bobbin lace
DentelleNext to several manual arts which are conquering day by day the heart of creators and embroiderers (like the patchwork or the scrapbooking, maintain all the success of its history and of its tradition the bobbin lace. We will remember this 2011 spring in Casa Cenina for the entry in our catalog of a lot of lace accessories coming from French, English and, of course, Italian producers. Several are the bobbins, of different shapes the pillows, and more or less big the accessories which have enriched in the last few months our section dedicated to classes by Alessandra Caputo. Continuing with this approach, we have decided to propose on our pages a selection of magazines, books and publications whose protagonist is of course the bobbin lace. Here they are just for you
