The Dansk Blomstergarn threads (universally known as Danish Flower Threads) have been called like this by the Haandarbejdets Fremme as a tribute to the well-known artist Gerda Bengtsson, designer of the popular flowered embroideries sold by this Danish brand. These threads are famous for their softness and for they give to embroideries a light and delicate effect. Their colors are actually made by trying to be similar to natural colors and they are dyed in a light but very solid way as they are water-resistant. The initial selection of these colors is the same from 1929 when their creator, Einar Hansen, gave them to the Haandarbejdets Fremme.
