New "seaside" charts by Isabelle Vautier
School is over and holidays have already started. In a few days summer will officially begin and with the end of June a lot of us (the most fortunate ones) will move to their seaside house. This "holiday and sea" atmosphere has inspired
Isabelle Vautier for her new series,
Portnic: a lot of charts whose protagonists are ships, beaches and sea birds.
The last chart created by Isabelle for this collection is
Cabine de plage, a real invitation to wear the swimming suit and the flip-flops to go to the seaside. Isabelle says she's been inspired by the Littoral towards Saint Denis, the island where she lives and where she feels summer has already begun. Actually these cabins are rare and if you look at them you have quite the impression you're facing a seaside landscape which is a bit
retro. But other than the static subjects like the cabin or the
lighthouse, Isabelle has made several sea birds. A very particular and unusual collection. Among all these birds, you can find an original
harlequin, the
avocets and the
seabirds. And naturally, there had to be also a
group of fishermen.
Finally, almost an isolated subject, a
nice little donkey.
