Stabilizer Avalon Film
Some fabrics and fabric textures, in particular knitwear and heavy loop towelling, are quite difficult to embroider. These fabrics might be stretchy or normal embroidery stitches may disappear into the rib or pile. Thanks to Avalon from Madeira, this can be avoided. Avalon is a water soluble film, which is cut and framed alongside the base fabric. Since it lies between the fabric and the embroidery design, Avalon provides the necessary extra stability for wide rib knitwear and stretchy fabrics. And it means the number of underlay stitches can be reduced. AVALON can be pulled off the embroidery and any residue removed with a steam iron.
Dimensions: 10 mt x 30 cm (11 yds x 12")

  Stabilize your embroidery!
Avalon MadeiraThese products are actually not so well-known. Who among you have ever used them? But, once you know what they are, you cannot work without them! Stabilizers are support films for embroidery. Once the work finished, they can be easily removed or with a simple cut (collection Cut Away), or with some water (collection Wash Away) or with a light rip (collection Tear Away). In short, these are light transparent films above all ideal for embroideries on sponge tissues which avoid the sinking of stitches. They are very useful for sewing machine works or when sewing light fabrics like silk which usually slide and move during one's embroidering. Moreover, stabilizers are used a lot in patchwork and quilt works. Just to let you know something more about the stabilizers, here are their instructions: Cut the stabilizer from the roll as much as you want and put it under the fabric to embroider. Fix both of them in the embroidery hoop – the fabric must be on the upper side. After the embroidery, take off the exceeding stabilizer. For the application with the sewing machine, put the stabilizer under the fabric where the application must be done. After the application, take off carefully the exceeding stabilizer. For the paper-piecing design instead the pattern with a pencil on the stabilizer. After the sewing of the fabric pieces, take off the plus stabilizer.
