Fil au Chinois - Lace Threads: The recently relaunched Fil Au Chinois brand has put together a range of threads, until now uniquely available to professional luxury lacemakers. The thread is long fibre cotton, made using Egyptian cotton (the best quality) which is carded (wire brushed), then combed. Following an age-old tradition, lace threads are graded according to an English numbering system (NE), which correspond to the number of skeins measuring 840 yards (768.1 metres) per English pound (453.6 grammes).
