Quilts or paintings?
We had already talked about McKenna Ryan and her quilting charts some posts ago
. Now, after the Festa del Ricamo of which she has been one of the protagonists and the participation of some of you to her 3 hour class, it seems right to talk about this subject once again and make some more remarks
Her charts contain all the colors of nature, also thanks to the chromatic possibilities, which are almost infinite, offered by the Batik fabrics by Hoffman for the collections Bali Watercolours
e Bali Handpaints
. These goe from animals to flowers, from farms to beaches, to Christmas subjects and true values celebrations, like love, trust, friendship, faith and life!
Even if maybe you are not - but you will be, as I think! - patchwork addicted, looking at these quilts is a real pleasure, just put your eyes on this page
Tell me if you are not surprised by the satisfied expression of this goat eating the grass
or by the colors of this fruit and vegetables basket
or by the joy of these "beach cangaroos" at the seaside
or by the tridimensional aspect of these flowers
Well, the list would be very long and... I'm just leaving to you the pleasure to surf among these wonders, sure that you will have in your eyes the same impression of those who saw live the quilts by McKenna on Saturday and on Sunday at the Festa del Ricamo: the impression of being in a little, very personal and really colorful art gallery.
But, especially in this case, art is really at everybody's hand since these charts are easier than you can imagine. The "magic" is just in the used materials: the “Steam a Seam Lite” and the teflon paper that will be soon on our catalog. And then, of course, in the explications we are translating and preparing for those who do not speak English.
As usal, while we are getting organized, we wait for your comments and... A big hug!
