Here is the second "Firma del Ricamo" who will accompany Casa Cenina in our adventure at Abilmente 2010:
Isabelle Mazabraud.
Known by all the embroiderers with her brand,
Reflets de Soie, Isabelle has been one of the protagonists of our
Festa del Ricamo in 2009 and it is a great pleasure for us to have her again in Italy next fall. As with the other three designers, we have asked Isabelle to compare the world of the French embroidery with the Italian one. Our stand at Abilmente will actually be all French speaking. We actually want to export all over Italy that elegant and professional attitude in embroidery which France has always showed as for cross-stitching and other similar arts.
Here is the interview:
What has been your first contact with the Italian market? What have been your initial impressions of Italy, as far as your work is concerned?I think all has started with Casa Cenina. Previously I had never sent my products in Italy.
Has your activity changed in Italy after the Festa del Ricamo and your cooperation with Casa Cenina?I think that all the Italian market has developed in the last 2/3 years, but this is my personal point of view as a French designer. Today the Italians are buying more and more my products. Moreover, I have had also the chance to participate to other showrooms in Italy.
What are the differences between the Italian and the French embroidery worlds?I think the differences are almost inexistent. Tastes are different, but this depends on personal and intimate motivations, not on geographical boundaries. Some stitchers prefer the antique embroideries, some other the samplers, some other the one-color patterns etc.
Are you happy to come back to Italy?I'm enthusiast to be back to Italy! And I especially want to show and present my embroideries to all the stitchers of Italy, a country where, obviously, I cannot be always present.
