Felt and Woolfelt
Felt is a tissue with the consistency of cardboard, the touch of cotton and the same origin of wool. Actually, this is a fabric obtained from the felting of carded wool of camel, sheep or goat. As a consequence, the natural color of felt is écru, but it is very used also in the different shades obtained through the flock dying. Other than the
more classic cuts in the different shades it is possible to buy the
Woolfelt by National Nonwovens. As the name suggests, the
woolfelt is wool mixed with rayon which can be treated in order to obtain the effects which mostly suit your works. Put the fabric in the washing machine and regulate the whirls and temperature of your centrifuge. You will obtain a tissue more or less felted according to your needs.
