Editions Tutti Frutti - Bestsellers
A flowerful Autumn
The Editions Tutti Frutti have an entirely Italian name, but the style and the contents are absolutely French. And if Italian embroidery has nothing to envy to that of our transalpine cousins, it is also true that from France come from great cross-stitching masters. Cécile Capilla represent all the elegance of the French embroidery in the last book by Tutti Frutti, Fleurs Brodées de A-Z. A hundred models all to embroider and to create through different techniques, clearly explained in this 113 pages manual. There are also some paper patterns of real dimensions and more than 120 colored pictures.
Actually nature and embroidery have a lot of things in common... Simplicity, tenderness, relax. In these first automn days it is good to sit in the garden and to embroider a bit. Maybe just taking inspiration from that little daisy next to the whithy rocker or just imaging the roses that next spring will embellish the bush in front of your door.
But as we were saying, there are not only cross-stitches in these pages, but it's a true anthology with free embroidery, ribbons embroidery, "peinture à l'aiguille" and "stumpwork". Did you know that the word "anthology" means "flowers picking"? It derives from the two Greek words anthos, flower, and lego, to pick. So here is this picking which will allows you to proove some particular techniques like the peinture à l'aiguille (needle painting) which is just the embroidery with one silk thread and which is identical back and forwards. On the other hand, the stumpwork is a relief, "tridimensional" embroidery which directly comes from the ecclesiastical couture-house.
A flower for each season. A flowe for each embroidery technique. A hundred flowers for all of you
