Ladies and Gents, here’s the tufting!

And “here” means “here at Casa Cenina”.

Before diving into this brand new world - well, relatively new, since in the USA and especially in California, they’ve already been crafting many things with it and with amazing results! - let’s take some time to understand exactly what it's all about.

Tufting is a textile art that allows you to craft soft carpets and accessories like cushions, wall panels, bags, funny frames (for example for mirrors!) and anything else our creativity suggests, by simply inserting “tufts” of yarns into a canvas, thus giving as a result a sort of “carpeting”.

Until few years ago, tufting was fully handmade, but today we can relay on a special machine that resembles a little “machine gun” though just in terms of look, since, unlike any kind of gun, this is conceived to bring to life something beautiful, exactly by “shooting” the canvas with its needle continuously, thus letting us create all the projects we can think of!
