The English word "
nanny" stays for a family figure in a whole lot of English speaking countries: some sort of "
additional mum", looking after the family's little ones, while the other mom is working. A nanny is a fundamental person, just because she's entrusted with the care of our most precious creatures!
This is probably why
needle nannies are called so ;-)
After all, even these "magical dots" are entrusted with the care of our most valuable and important stitching tools: our needles, the fundamental partners of any stitcher.
But now a
Needle Nanny can be even more than a safe heaven to put our needle in and stay reassured that we won't have to look for it for ages, every time we get back to our stitching project:
it's a real partner following us while our needlework "grows" and can become a lovely embellishment for it, when the project is complete!
For example, we can simply apply it to the frame of our finished work ;-)
