A special mandala
Take a textile designer born in the country of carpets - Iran, or ancient Persia - and a company that have manufactured embroidery wool for almost 150 years - Appletons - and get them together, to join a competition created by the Royal School of Needlework - the most famous and ancient needlework school in the UK, established in 1872 and still sponsored by the British Crown - and you can’t get but a winning project!
That means: the Mandala Kit designed by Anil Farzaneh and winner of the contest launched by the Royal School of Needlework back in 2022, using the theme “Celebration”. This design is now a unique needlework kit, with the unmistakable touch of Persian carpets and all the magic of any mandala: the round-shaped figure that in Sanskrit - i.e. ancient Indian, in short - is associated to something sacred, often referring to the Moon or the Sun.
