Dancing on threads
After
music, here is another art celebrated by threads and needles: dance.
Alexander Sheversky has created for the
I Love Cross Stitch a series of drawings which has as protagonists just some dancers. The movements of the body at the rhythm of the notes are hard to capture in a picture, but these wonderful creations represent with elegance the gestures and poses of classical and modern dancers.
In
Seated Dancer in Red a very beautiful girl in red with her hair in ponytail makes here exercises before dancing in the air. Colors and dress are different in this
Dancer in Green, whereas red is the dress of this
Dancer in Red, where an
étoile puts her dancing shoes on with all her elegance. Very particular is the gown of the
Ballet Dancer, whereas the background of all these embroideries of 500x300 stitches is always fresh and light white curtains. And after having embroidered the charts by Alexander, you cannot but work on this masterpiece by
Degas, his famous and majestic
Dancer. A cross-stitch embroidery you can dance on!
