How to organize your threads
Organizing our threads is not so easy! Sometimes even in the
organizers it is difficult to order the several skeins without mixing all colors. For such a reason, some enterprises like
Kelmscott Design, specialized in making embroiderers' life simpler, have created some useful instruments called
Thread Rings which make it possible to better wind your threads. So, other than the classic
bobbins and the useful (even if not so beautiful)
plastic bags, we can find on sale some very nice thread organizers. Here are then the
Thread Ring-Hearts and the
Thread Ring-Round both in mother-pearl: each skein will thus have its own little ring! If, by contrast you want to organize the threads according to different color shades or to have in only one keeper all the threads necessary for the same embroidery, the best solution are the
Thread Keeps, not some rings, but surfaces of different shapes with holes for the skeins. For the most romantic types, here is the
Heart, whereas for the most practical girls here is the
Sampler House and for those who are sweeter, here is a
Strawberry. And if you are looking for more particular shapes, like
a surprised cat or a
green fog, just have a look on the original thread-keepers by
