I have been given both books several years ago. And 'an archive of alphabets, precious and complete, always useful. Alphabets are presented by most small to the biggest, and are taken into account letters of different styles: ancient, modern, classic, historical, pot-bellied, thin, slanted, with friezes, and cursive scripts, some embellished with small floral motifs to be implemented with a contrasting color, or by small friezes that intertwine the body of the letter. At the bottom of this first volume there are some letters made "oblique", therefore very useful to be embroidered in the corners of the canvas (for example, in the four corners of a tablecloth). Also present were several series of numbers, and then letters in foreign alphabets (Russian, Serbian, jew, Armenian ... maybe not very useful for the Italian embroiderers, but definitely found elsewhere). I suggest buying both volumes, because they provide the largest collection of alphabets and thus are very useful. Rather they are indispensable! Cinzia... Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] |
