Weaver cloth is a great fabric and the ideal solution for punch-needle and any other kind of embroidery (ie: cushions), but not for cross-stitch. The thread count is looser than quilt fabric but the threads are heavier, making the fabric very strong. It needs to be placed in a hoop with a lip (Susan Bates hoops works well) so the fabric is drum-tight.
