It really necessary (and not only for embroidery! ^^) Lightweight yet durable material, the tape unwinds and rewinds very well with extreme speed of soft material so it fits very well to any surface and has on one side the measure Cm and the other the extent inches ... really useful if maybe you only know the measures in inches and do not want to waste time with conversions! good product that I recommend to anyone who needs a functional meter, but really cheap :)
