the price indicated for this product will be applied only if you confirm your order within ::

25 g hank (unlabelled), about 55 m (60 yd), of Appleton Tapestry Wool (4 ply), pure British wool dyed and spun in the UK: good value for backgrounds and large areas.
It is the thicker of Appleton's two wools (the company has been making yarn since 1835): it covers canvas well and suits needlepoint, tapestry and cross stitch on canvas. The colours are the same as in the finer Crewel Wool. The wool should not be washed: if needed, sponge it with cold water. Keep your work out of direct sunlight.
Hanks are not labelled: make a note of the colour number straight away.

Description

202 Flame Red is a hank from the Appleton Tapestry Wool range, British wool dyed and spun in the UK. The 4 ply weight is the thicker of the two Appleton wools and covers canvas well: it is the usual choice for needlepoint, tapestry work and rugs. The 25 g hank, about 55 m (60 yd), comes unlabelled and suits large backgrounds and filled areas.

Colours are grouped into named ranges running from light to dark, so neighbouring numbers are shades of the same family. Below you will find the closest shades, useful for blending or for replacing a colour; for an accurate comparison a shade card is still the best tool.
