The Norwegian designer behind the beloved Tilda brand opens 2026 with a magnificent tribute to the most famous Italian city on water, through a collection entirely inspired by it: Songbird.

“The so-called Liberty style can be found in ornate buildings and old cafés around town, but Murano glass chandeliers, hidden gardens, and the romantic way of life also made me think about the ornamental drawings with defined outlines typical of that era”, said Tone Finnanger.

That era is the period between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when the Art Nouveau movement fueled the so-called Belle Époque and the style known in Italy as Liberty. Characterized by floral motifs, flowing and asymmetrical lines inspired by nature, it became prominent everywhere in architecture, design, and the applied arts.
