Tilda Widebacks

Like all American-style printed cottons with a generous width, Tilda’s new “widebacks” were created to solve a very practical need for quilt lovers: at 274 cm wide, they allow you to make the backing for even large quilts using one generous piece of fabric, with no seams or joins of any kind.

But when we saw the patterns of these new fabrics designed by Tone Finnanger, we must admit we started thinking about so much more than just quilt backs.

Because in this case, besides the convenience of that extra-wide width, there’s another great advantage: the timeless, wonderfully versatile nature of the prints! Ellie’s delicate, timeless little flowers and the Gingham checks are two classic, universal patterns that look good practically everywhere and with almost anything, blending beautifully with countless other fabrics.

The collection comes in four variations of each design, in traditional, incredibly versatile colorways: yellow, pink, soft blue, red, olive green and light green. And with all that fabric to work with, why stop at quilts?

Bags, pillows, accessories, creative sewing projects, home decor, but also sofa covers and bedspreads, throws, draperies and valances… and the list goes on!
