La frivolité aux navettes: Les bases fondamentales perfectionnées
The so-called frivolité is a particular kind of lace, made up by a series of knots, composed on fingers and with the help of two little spools. This book includes more than 100 practical exercises, explained with over 1000 step-by-step pictures. The volume matches the typical little knots of the 17th and 18th centuries with a more modern frivolité fitted for our time and ideal to craft trims and realize different effects. Focusing on finger movements, so to make lace crafting more uniform and smoother, the book proposes 15 delicate projects, along with a number of tips and suggestions, to craft them easily, and technical charts.
Edwige Renaudin, a professional pattern maker, has been devoting herself to the frivolité for over 20 years and she's now one of the rare experts of this ancient art in France. She's continuously inventing new, more and more refined projects, to improve her skills and creates applications for clothes, jewels, linens and fans... Edwige is a member of many Frivolité associations: Danish, German, Dutch and English. After receiving several international prizes, some of her works are nowadays showcased in the the Fan Museums in Paris and London.
