A gathering of meadow flowers designed by Gerda Bengtsson for the Danish school Haandarbejdets Fremme, in the tall, narrow format used for the Wall pictures series. It is worked in counted cross stitch on linen, following the symbol chart and counting the threads of the fabric, usually two threads for each stitch.
Danish Flower Thread is a single-strand matte cotton that gives the stitching the soft, natural look typical of Scandinavian designs. Everything needed for the embroidery is in the kit: you only need to add a frame to hold the fabric taut and a picture frame for mounting. Given its size and the fine thread count, it suits stitchers already at ease with counted work on linen.
