An antique-style sampler carrying the date 1852, in the spirit of the old household linens. Everything needed to stitch it is in the kit, so it is only a matter of preparing the fabric and making a start. The threads come already sorted by colour, which is a real help in a piece with many symbols to follow.
The work is done in counted cross stitch on linen, usually stitching over two threads of the weave: it calls for slightly more careful counting than Aida, so it suits stitchers with a little experience. Given the size of the fabric, a hoop or frame moved along as you go makes the work easier. Once finished, it becomes a picture to hang.
