Description

Six Christmas mittens with familiar holiday motifs, worked in a single colour in the redwork tradition: the design is ironed onto the felt and then outlined in back stitch with red thread, so there is no counting involved. Felt does not fray and needs no hemming, which makes this a relaxed project to pick up a piece at a time.

Once the embroidery is done, the two layers are joined with blanket stitch, the red cuffs are added and the gold string makes the hanger. You only need a needle, scissors and an iron, which are not in the kit. Each mitten stays open at the top, just right for a gift card or a note.
