Kreinik Milkpaint : Milkpaint was a common type of paint used in Colonial and early 19th century periods. It was based on natural ingredients, such as casein (the most important milk protein), lime, clay and earth pigments such as ochre, iron oxide and lampblack. It gave walls a one-of-a-kind, "milky" shade, that Kreinik has re-created in these threads of their Silk More range, re-calling the tones and atmosphere of those olden days. The Kreinik Milkpaint colors are ideal for cross stitch, historical samplers, and other needlework in Colonial, Federal or early Victorian embroidery, or to create an antiqued effect in any design. Kreinik Silk Mori is a premium silk floss, with a delightful softness and creamy lustre. Available in 2.75 yard skeins and in a number of colors, it can be used for a variety of stitches and final effects, even by beginners. It is recommended not to use an embroidery hoop with these silk threads, but to prefer Calin, Q-Snap or R&R Frames. Dry cleaning only. 100% spun silk.
