Two autumn-themed bookmarks worked in counted cross stitch, with a few long stitches for the details: a small bird among leaves and berries, and a warm-toned bookcase. Being small, they are finished in a couple of evenings, which makes them a good project for newer stitchers or a quick handmade gift.
Everything you need to stitch is in the kit, ribbon included; the finishing is up to you: usually the fabric is trimmed along the stitched border and backed with felt or fabric, or a few threads are withdrawn to make a short fringe. A small hoop is handy to keep the fabric taut.
