Wooden Rod 27 cm

A natural wooden rod, light but sturdy, with a turned knob at each end. It is made to hold the top of a long, narrow piece of needlework: traditional bell pulls, fabric Advent calendars or band samplers. The work is attached with a casing or a few hidden stitches along the top edge, then hung from a cord or ribbon tied between the knobs.

It is a neat alternative to a frame when a design is too elongated to sit well in one. The embroidery, the hanging cord and any second rod are not included: for a balanced result, plan on two matching rods, one at the top and one at the bottom to weigh the fabric down.
