Bookmark: Puppies (2)

Two bookmarks to work in counted cross stitch: one shows the face of a tabby kitten, the other a puppy, with a few coloured paw prints in the corners. The stitched areas are small, so each one is finished in a couple of evenings and makes a good way to get used to reading a symbol chart without taking on a long project.

Everything needed for the stitching is in the kit, DMC threads and needle included; you only need to add a small hoop and a pair of embroidery scissors. The edges are already fringed, so once the stitching is done the bookmark is ready to use: a simple present for a reader, perhaps tucked into a new book.
