Bookmark - Nordic Christmas charm (2)

Two Christmas bookmarks to work in counted cross stitch, with decorated baubles and stylised trees standing out against the dark fabric. They are small, quick pieces: a couple of evenings is enough, and with the ribbon already included they make a nice present to slip into a book or hang on the tree.

Aida at 7 stitches per cm has a close weave, so good light helps, and a magnifier if you use one. All you need to add are small scissors and, if you prefer taut fabric, a hoop or frame. The chart is printed with large squares, easy to follow even with limited experience of counted work.
