A winter scene with three little birds perched on a snow-covered branch, surrounded by clusters of red berries that stand out against the pale blue background. It is worked in counted cross stitch following the chart: most of the 29 DMC shades go into the soft gradations of sky and plumage, while the berries provide the contrast.
Aida 14 ct has a clearly visible weave that is easy to count, so the project suits stitchers with little experience as well. Besides the kit, a hoop or frame and a small pair of embroidery scissors are useful; the picture frame is not included. Once finished, the piece can be framed as a Christmas picture or kept on display all winter.
