Latch hook work means knotting short, pre-cut lengths of acrylic yarn onto a large-hole canvas with the hook provided. The design is painted straight onto the canvas, so there is no counting involved: you simply work row by row, following the printed colours. It is a repetitive, relaxing craft that suits children and complete beginners alike.
The result is a dense, soft pile with the look of a small rug. The kit makes only the front of the cushion cover: to finish it you will need backing fabric and a 40 × 40 cm cushion pad. The worked square can also be used as a small mat or a decorative panel.
