A locomotive made of gingerbread and icing, surrounded by presents and pink fir trees: a cheerful Christmas scene in soft colours that suits a child's room as well as a living room. The large-square chart and the pre-sorted threads keep the stitching straightforward, even if you have little experience with counted work.
You stitch on the Aida by counting the squares from the chart, usually with two strands of stranded cotton, and finish the outlines in backstitch with a single strand. Frame, hoop and scissors are not included: a hoop or frame helps keep the fabric taut. Once finished, the piece can be framed or made up as a decorative panel to bring out every December.
