Description

A birth sampler to work in counted cross stitch: the penguin holds a bunch of balloons and there is room beside it for the baby's name and date of birth, spelled out with the alphabet and numbers given in the chart. Apart from cross stitch you only need back stitch for the outlines and a few long stitches for the balloon strings.

With just five colours and a large-square chart it is easy going even with little experience. Everything you need is in the kit except the frame, which you choose separately, along with a hoop or frame if you like to keep the fabric taut. A lovely gift for a birth or a christening, ready to hang in the nursery.
