Description

A ready-made, hemmed table runner with the design printed straight onto the fabric: you stitch over the printed colours, with no counting on the weave. The poppies sit at both ends, while the middle stays plain white and leaves room for vases, plates or candles.

It is worked in cross stitch with a few back stitch details for stems and outlines. The printed design washes out, so the embroidery covers the print and the finished runner looks clean. A hoop or frame makes stitching easier; once finished, a gentle wash and pressing from the back on a soft towel are all it needs.
