A bunch of red poppies with wheat ears and leaves, to embroider in the centre of a ready-made runner: the fabric is already sewn, hemmed and printed with the design, so you simply follow the printed lines instead of counting threads. In the photo the runner is dark grey, a background that sets off the reds and whites of the stitching.
Several stitches are used, from satin stitch for the petals to french knots for the flower centres, so some experience of freestyle embroidery helps, along with a hoop and small scissors. Once finished, a wash removes the printed lines and the runner is ready for the table or a sideboard.
