The design is already printed on the runner, so you simply stitch over the printed colours without counting threads, and the printing washes out once the work is finished. Besides cross stitch there is a little stem stitch and back stitch for the outlines and tendrils, both explained in the instructions.
The runner comes pre-finished with a hemmed inwoven border, so no making up is needed: just wash and press it. A rectangular frame or a hoop moved along the two decorated ends makes the stitching more comfortable. It is a table, sideboard or console decoration for the autumn months, and a good gift for anyone who likes embroidered household linen.
