A white runner, already hemmed and finished with an inwoven drawn-thread border, to embroider with two bunches of bright wild flowers. The design is printed straight onto the fabric: you simply stitch over the print, which washes out, so cover the printed lines well with your stitches.
Several traditional embroidery stitches are combined, from French knots to satin stitch, so it suits someone with a little experience who enjoys a longer project. A hoop or frame is useful, moved along the fabric as you work. Once finished, wash the runner, press it face down and it is ready to dress a table or a sideboard.
