The design is printed straight onto the fabric, so there is no counting involved: you stitch over the printed colours and the print washes out with the first wash, leaving only the embroidery. Alongside cross stitch, a few outline stitches and small french knots are used for the flowers, all explained in the instructions.
The runner comes ready hemmed, so once the stitching is done it only needs a wash and a press on the wrong side before going on the table or a sideboard. A hoop or frame that does not mark the fabric and a small pair of scissors make the work easier. The long, narrow shape also suits small tables and hall furniture.
