A square table topper with a wreath of white lily of the valley and green leaves, worked in cross stitch over the design already printed on the fabric: there is no counting, you simply cover the coloured squares. With just six colours the work moves along quickly, though the area to cover is generous and takes a little patience.
The fabric comes ready hemmed at its finished size, so once the stitching is done a gentle wash and a press on the wrong side are all it needs. A hoop or frame and an embroidery needle make the work easier; the finished piece looks at home on a table or a sideboard and makes a pretty spring gift.
