A Christmas draft stopper worked in cross stitch: a continuous band of white snow crystals and stars on a red ground, to lay along the bottom of a door or window through the cold months. The canvas has large holes and the yarn is thick, so the stitching grows quickly and is easy to follow even without experience — a good first project, and one that children can help with.
The inner filling is not included: once the stitching is done, fill the draft stopper with wadding, rice or another heavy material and close it with a few hand stitches.
