A little elephant wearing a pink blanket trimmed with flowers, beads and sequins: the felt shapes come ready cut and are stitched onto the printed fabric following the design, using a few simple hand stitches. It is a project made for anyone taking their first steps with needle and thread, children of twelve and up included.
The bamboo flexihoop is part of the kit: it holds the fabric taut while you work and then becomes the frame to hang on the wall, once the surplus fabric has been trimmed at the back. A pair of small sharp scissors is handy, though not supplied. The finished piece makes a cheerful present or a decoration for a child's room.
