Runner - Christmas

The runner comes ready-made and hemmed, so only the Christmas motif at each end has to be stitched, leaving the centre of the fabric plain. The cross stitch is worked over the Aida squares following the symbol chart, and the gold metallic threads add sparkle to the stars and scrolls.

It suits stitchers with little experience too, as the areas to cover are small and no sewing is needed at the end. Once finished, a gentle wash and pressing on the reverse are all it takes before the runner goes on the festive table, a sideboard or a console. A hoop or frame makes the stitching easier to handle.
