Mushrooms

An autumn still life in landscape format: the wicker basket has tipped over and the mushrooms are rolling among dry leaves, berries and tufts of grass, with a few butterflies resting on the caps. The many shades of brown, grey and green give the mushrooms their realistic look, so it helps to stitch in good light and keep an eye on the colour changes.

The kit holds everything needed to stitch the design, threads included; the frame seen in the photo is not part of the kit. A hoop or stretcher frame and a small pair of embroidery scissors make the work easier. Once washed, pressed and framed, the long shape suits a sideboard or a kitchen wall.
